So, big-ish news?

I've been waiting for a good opportunity to drop this bomb - which means uh waiting for a page that actually gets done completely on time? But I guess I'm easily distracted and stressed out these days and life feels like it keeps throwing curve-balls at me. (Case in point: the position I gave up a few months ago because it was organized so poorly is now mine again because Somebody's Gotta Do It and the gal who took over the contract peace'd out for some of the same reasons.)

Basically, the news is a few things:

• I'm going to be taking a longer hiatus after this book is done. I normally take a month or two to get my shit together in preparation for the next chapter, but there are just too many things I need to go back and touch up and it all has grown to be the 800lb gorilla lurking in my files. I'll be spending the time basically doing page redos, recolors, dialogue fixes, and adding (waitforit) missing footnotes! Admittedly, this might take a while. A long while. I might be gone for 6 months or more. But I honestly need a break from the weekly grind. It's the monkey on my back that I just... really need to step away from for a while. The upside to this is that there will be a much shorter period between getting the comic done and getting the printed book(s) crowdfunded, which is also sort of a strategic move. The more momentum I build up over the last 100-150 pages that I can then capitalize on for preorders, the better.
• I'll be leaving Hiveworks. (I haven't told them yet.) Mostly, my posting schedule is such bare minimum nonsense and my personal social media marketing efforts so nonexistent that... I basically make no money with them. At this point I'm a footnote on their ledger, and in return I still have to run ads on a website that's optimized for ads, not optimized for reading. It's no longer a worthwhile tradeoff to me. I would feel much better pimping my shit if it's actually presented the way I want, yannow?
• So what the heck kind of website will I be using then, you might be asking? Old readers will be familiar with the static site I used to have before I joined HW, and I'll be going back to that. It was just a way cooler format, and something I'm much more proud of. If it's all a passion project anyways, who cares? (Here's a sneak peak for those interested. Let me know what you think!)

Anyways, time ran out much faster today than I was expecting. (I never expect it.) But I have to go do a paid divination reading for someone before heading to bed. If anyone here is interested, by the way, I do them! And I'm cheap!
