This page has been brought to you by: Wassily Kandinsky. I started reading his Concerning the Spiritual in Art and it's giving me thinky-thoughts. It's also giving me memory-lane-thoughts: the most intense art class I ever had was my freshman painting class in college; the teacher gave me a critique on a throwaway painting and I was so overcome with emotion that I had to go to the bathroom and cry it out. And not in a "he hurt my feelings" way, but a "holy shit, what even is art" way. But a lot of what the teach said seems to have come directly from this short treatise.
Also: sorry about dropping off. I had ECCC to go to, and was hoping beyond hope that I would be able to set aside an hour or three to draw some AP, but that just didn't work out. I was mostly just tired, and in my spare moments sat and read Robinson Jeffers poetry. 25 hours on a train will do that to you.
I should be back on track now.
Much love to all my dear readers, too. I no longer do this for money (though the extra chump change is awesome) so your comments are a big part of what keep me motivated (and sane). <3
